‘Nara’ is a Woiwurrung word meaning ‘companion.’

Nara Community Early Learning Centre (established in 1989) is a not-for-profit and community focused early learning service in Preston. Nara provides care for 68 children each day, from 6 month old babies up to school-ready kids. Nara is overseen by a committee of management.

There are four groups of children, each with their own and shared indoor and outdoor spaces:
Joeys - 6 months to 2 years; Possums - 2 years to 3 years; Koalas - 3 to 4 years and Wombats are the kinder group 4 to 5.  

Nara is open from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm Monday to Friday.

The centre is closed on all Victorian Public Holidays and for three weeks over Christmas and New Year. (Phone 03 9471 9914)


Nara achieved the rating "EXCEEDING NATIONAL QUALITY STANDARD"  by The Australian Children’s Education & Care Quality Authority (ACECQA). Read more
